Homemade Mothers Day Gifts Quotes, Paint, and Flowers

There was one Mother's Day in particular that I desperately wanted to show my mother how appreciated she was, but I barely had a single cent to my name. Somehow, I came up with the idea of painting a flower pot for her.
I spent days combing the internet for the perfect literary quote that would express how much I loved my mom but that also used the imagery of flowers and growth so that I could paint that quote onto the flower pot. After about 3 days I finally found the perfect quote.
I headed to the craft store and discovered that the standard clay pots I wanted to paint onto weren’t even a full dollar. I bought two just in case I messed up the first one. Then I made the rounds within the store in case anything else jumped out at me when I noticed beautiful little gemstones that could be glued onto the pot. I made my purchases and went home. I painted the quote in cursive lettering across the top of the pot and winding all the way around. I then super glued the adornments and set out to find a cute but inexpensive flower to put into the pot. The entire project with paints, jewels and flower all cost me under $10.00 and it was the proudest I had ever been of a Mother’s Day gift. That was 10 years ago and my Mother still has the pot right next to her kitchen window.
