Baby Clothesline Gift

I recently attended a baby shower where the mom-to-be received one of the best gifts I have ever seen. I have been to a number of baby showers over the years and have seen some great gifts, but this was truly my favorite. I have passed the idea along to friends and family alike.
An aunt from out of town presented the 7-month pregnant mom with a monogrammed baby hamper. The hamper was large and cute in it's own right, an excellent gift and incredibly useful by any standard.
As "Mom" put the hamper to the side, she realized there was something inside. Her aunt smiled and told her to open it up and see what was inside.
She opened to find a string (clothesline to be exact). Attached to the clothesline with clothes pins were baby outfits. The outfits were various sizes, some newborn outfits but others that would be perfect for a growing baby. The aunt had taken care to make sure, because there were so many, that the styles and sizes varied.
She continued to pull the clothesline and pass it down as more and more outfits emerged: bibs, undershirts, cute tops, socks, and even a hat or two. Her aunt had taken care to attach and fold the clothing in such a way that it came out of the hamper effortlessly.
It was adorable. Each outfit elicited another ooh or aaahhh from the group. We all waited to see how many outfits there were and waited for the clothesline to be long enough to reach us. The best part was that tops and bottoms were seperated so costs could be kept down.
After seeing such a great gift many of us swore that we would use the idea for the next shower we attended.
Just a few months later we got the chance at another girlfriend's shower. We were able to purchase outfits on sale and achieve the same affect. It was a thoughtful gift that left both moms smiling!
I highly recommend this gift to anyone looking to do something different and unique for their next baby shower!
